CUSTOMERS at Notcutts Garden Centre Rivendell Widnes have helped to raise £11,500 for Halton Haven Hospice by rounding up their shopping to the nearest pound.

The donation will support the hospice in providing specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in Runcorn, Widnes and the surrounding areas.

Faye O’Neill, fundraiser at Halton Haven Hospice, said: “We are incredibly grateful for the support we have received from Notcutts Rivendell staff and customers over the past few years.

"Through the pennies scheme we have seen the generosity of our community result in a tremendous overall donation – those pennies really do add up.

“The funds raised by Notcutts Rivendell will go directly towards the specialist palliative care we provide, it’s thanks to the kind support from our community that we can be here for our patients and their families when they need us most.

"A big thank you to all those that have contributed to the Pennies scheme in aid of the Haven.”

For 2019, Notcutts Rivendell has chosen a new charity – Halton Carers’ Centre – to support with its Pennies donation scheme. The Halton Carers’ Centre, which is part of the national Carers Trust charity, offers advice and support services for family carers at its centres in Runcorn and Widnes.
