CROSFIELDS Sharks under 9s football team has scored with a new second matchday kit, training kit and tracksuit from Bellway Homes.

With its Primrose Meadow development located close to the boys’ training grounds at Great Sankey High School and St Gregory’s Catholic High School, the housebuilder was pleased to lend its support to the club and cover the cost of nine full kits for this new season.

An FA charter standard community club, Crosfields JFC has more than 500 players across all ages and abilities.

Recently awarded FA McDonalds football mum of the year, manager of the under 9s, Helen Atkinson, said: “We are extremely grateful to Bellway Homes for its kind donation.

"The sponsorship is a fantastic contribution to the team and the new kits allow the players to look smart and professional and represent the club with pride when they are playing at home and away.”

Coach, Sam Barr, and parent helper, Mike Porter, added: “The under 9s are doing really well, they have kicked the season off to a good start and we are hoping for a successful season ahead.

“The new kit is great for weekly training and has already given them a little extra boost on the pitch when it comes to competitive matches.

“Grassroots football is so important and with the club being one of the biggest in the north west, allowing boys, girls and more recently ladies to play football, we are very grateful for all the kind support that we can get as it all benefits the youngsters and their enjoyment and performance in the sport.”

Sales director at Bellway Homes, Jenny Bell, added: “We understand that community football clubs can often find it difficult to raise the funds that they need to provide kit and equipment on an ongoing basis and were happy to be able to help Crosfields under 9s.

"The kits certainly look fantastic, and we were pleased to hear that they’ve been giving the players a competitive edge.”

The club is always looking for sponsorship for the boys, girls section and mums team and is willing to work with any potential sponsors to benefit all parties concerned.
