GARETH Widdop's move to Warrington Wolves could be announced as early as tomorrow, according to reports in Australia.

The Daily Telegraph are reporting that The Wire have beaten off several Super League clubs to secure the 29-year-old England superstar's signature on a lucrative two-year deal starting in 2020.

The report says half-back Widdop will take a pay cut to move to England and that current club St George Illawarra Dragons are preparing to announce the deal shortly.

Wire head coach Steve Price brought Widdop to the Dragons from Melbourne Storm in 2014, but the partnership was short-lived as Price left the club part-way through that year's NRL season.

Huddersfield Giants went public with their bid to sign Halifax-born Widdop, who has 24 England caps, but the Telegraph are now reporting that Leeds Rhinos, Wigan Warriors and St Helens all made a play for his signature.
