A WOMAN was freed from her car by emergency services after a crash on the M6 on Sunday morning.

Shortly before 10am on Sunday, the northbound carriageway of the motorway was closed between junction 20 at Lymm and junction 19 at Knutsford.

Two cars were involved in the accident, with debris reported in the road.

Fire crews found a woman trapped in her car when they attended.

Firefighters and police cordoned off lanes one and two and the hard shoulder as the emergency services worked at the scene.

Firefighters also helped paramedics to get the casualty out of the vehicle after her condition had been assessed.

The casualty was then left in the care of the North West Ambulance Service.
Firefighters were in attendance for around 45 minutes.
