A SPEEDING motorist gave police officers a bizarre excuse after being caught doing 123mph on the M62.
The driver was stopped at 1.45am this morning, Friday, and told officers he was speeding because he 'wanted to get a kebab from Manchester'.
Officers also found the driver did not have a licence or insurance and later discovered the details he had given were his brother's.
A 23-year-old man will now face a summons for alleged driving offences.

Cheshire Constabulary is one of the forces joining a national crackdown on speeding motorists.
The three-week long 'Speed Enforcement' campaign is being co-ordinated by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) and aims to reduce the number of people killed or seriously injured on UK roads as well as tackling irresponsible and dangerous drivers committing speeding offences.
Over the next three weeks the police force will be undertaking enforcement and educational activities to tackle a recent spike in road deaths in Cheshire.
