THE new year is upon us so what does 2019 have in store for us in Warrington?
We have picked out some of the key dates for your diary to pencil in for the next 12 months.
JANUARY >
Warrington Markers Market was one of the hits of 2018 bringing hundreds of people to Warringotn on a Sunday to browse the stalls.
It makes its first apperance on 2019 at Queen's Gardens on Sunday, February 10.

Rugby league bosses at the 2021 World Cup are set to announce if Warrington will stage games in the tournament
FEBRUARY >
Super League is back. After a Grand Final appearance in 2018, Warrington Wolves will be pushing for the big one in 2019.
And what better way to start than a home game at The Halliwell Jones Stadium against 2017 champions Leeds Rhinos?
A sell-out and a win would be a great way to start the season which ends with the Grand Final in Old Trafford in October
MARCH >
March sees a stellar line-up of talent at the Parr Hall.
Comedian Rhod Gilbert kicks things off on March 2 with his stand-up show.
But if you can't make that, Ben Fogle, The Wailers, Gabrielle, Jasper Carrot and The Coral all make appearances this month

The town's traditional St Patrick's Day parade will take place through town on Sunday, March 17
APRIL >
April is Easter with Easter Monday on April 22.
So head to Lymm for the annual Lymm Duck Race which takes over the village throughout the day.
MAY >
Neighbourhood Weekender exploded on the scene in 2018 and returns to Victoria Park on the weekend of May 25 and 26.
Headline appearances from George Ezra and Richard Ashcroft should ensure another bumper crowd of music fans.
And there is plenty more to enjoy besides.

Warrington Wolves fans can look forward to a trip to Anfield at the Wire take on Wigan at the Magic Weekend in a repeat of last year's Grand Final.
The game on May 25 is one of six Super League clashes to take place at the home of Liverpool FC over the wekend
Gulliver's World stages a Princess and Pirates weekend with lots of entertainment planned at the Old Hall theme park from May 4 to 6
JUNE >
It is always the most talked about date in the diary of Warrington.
When is Warrington Walking Day?
Well this year it is set to take place on Friday, June 28.
It is in the middle of a festival season that sees carnivals and walking days take place in all of Warrington's four corners.

Get ready for 10 days of art, music, drama and celebrations with Lymm Festival which runs from June 20 to 30
JULY >
It is the biggest free event of its kind in Europe.
And Disability Awareness Day returns to Walton Hall on Sunday, July 14.
Expect the usual dazzling array of stalls, information and entertainment.

Stockton Heath Festival brings its four days of celebrations to life over the first weekend of July
AUGUST >
Warrington is the home of gin with Greenall's still producing millions of bottles a year.
Well this August, The Gin Society if holding a two-day Gin Festival at Parr Hall.
There will be 120 gins to try. The action takes place on August 16 and 17
Also this month...
Wembley stages the Challenge Cup Final for the last time in August before it moves in 2020. It takes place on Saturday, August 24.
Meanwhile Creamfields returns to Daresbury over the bank holiday weekend from August 22 to 25 with Swedish House Mafia among the line-up
SEPTEMBER >
September sees the English Half Marathon when thousands of runners take to the streets to run 10k or a half marathon through the town centre and the south of Warrington.
There is even a 5k on the Friday night or a one mile family run if you don't fancy the big one.
This year it takes place over the weekend of September 13 to 15
OCTOBER >
After a 15-year absence from the stand-up scene, Ben Elton is back.
He brings his show, which has 53 dates, to the Parr Hall on October 19
Also this month...
We don't want to jinx it but the Super League Grand Final is on Saturday, October 12. Worth pencilling in, just in case!
NOVEMBER >
Thousands took part in the 2018 Remembrance Sunday service at the cenotaph.
This year, the service will take place at a rennovated war memorial as work to the river bank of the Mersey takes place throughout 2019.
This year's Remembrance Sunday is November 10.
Also this month ...
Get ready for Christmas as the town's Christmas lights are switched on
DECEMBER >
If this year is anything to go by, you really are spolied for choice when it comes to Christmas entertainment.
Lymm Dickensian Day takes place on Saturday, December 14 with the usual parade, stalls and entertainment.
But there will be plenty more besides with events across Warrington
