PLANS to turn an 'eyesore' in Culcheth into 31 flats have been withdrawn by the developer.
Grappenhall-based ASA Homes had applied for planning permission from Warrington Borough Council in order to build assisted living apartments on land adjacent to the Culcheth Arms pub.
The 2,395sq m plot on Church Lane – described as an eyesore in application documents – was previously used as a garden centre.

But ASA Homes withdraw its proposals for 23 one-bedroom and eight two-bedroom apartments in a three-storey block on Wednesday, December 19.
Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council had raised a 'number of serious concerns' over the development – including parking – while Warrington Borough Council's highways department stated that the application required further information.
Plans had included provision for 21 car parking spaces, and would have created one full-time job.
Residents had also objected to the scheme, as it was 'overbearing'.
Planning permission for 10 homes on the site was previously granted by Warrington Borough Council in 2016.
