A JUNIOR rugby team are putting their best foot forward to help raise money for a parent who is undergoing cancer treatment.

Woolston Rovers Under 11s Golds side have organised a 3km Santa Dash on Sunday, December 16 to show support for Rachel Thompson from Padgate.

Rachel's son Samuel plays for the Woolston Rovers team and family and friends are hoping to raise money to help her make precious memories with her children.

Head coach Phil Lucy said: "We want to show Rach that we are all behind here as she continues her treatment and the money that we raise will enable her to make some great memories with her family.

"She has been a great supporter of our team and we just want to give something back to her.

"Sponsor forms are available and it would be great if other teams from the club would also get involved."

The run starts at 10am on Sunday, December 16 around Hillock Lane Playing Fields, adjacent to Rovers base at Monks Sports Club.
