A MAN is due to be sentenced for the murder of ‘loveable young son’ Declan Bunting this afternoon, Tuesday.

Stuart Rawling is scheduled to appear at Liverpool Crown Court at 3pm today after admitting murdering 21-year-old Mr Bunting, who died after being stabbed in the chest on Wilderspool Causeway earlier this year.

Cheshire Police were called to the scene at around 3am on Saturday, June 16, with Mr Bunting later being pronounced dead after being rushed to hospital.

Thirty-one-year-old Rawling, of Wilderspool Causeway, pleaded guilty to murder during a hearing last week – having refused to leave his cell for an earlier court appearance.

Declan Bunting’s parents paid tribute to their son in the wake of his death.

His mum said: “Declan was my best friend – he was a loveable young man who was well-liked by all those who knew him.

“He would always be joking and making people laugh with no-one ever being sad or miserable when he was around.

“We all miss him so much and I wish we could have him back with us.

“I am lost without him.”

Declan’s dad added: “From the first minutes of my son's life as I held him in my arms he made me laugh, cry, proud and sad.

“Any parent will understand that.

“One of the worst things about having someone you love taken away so young is it happens again every single minute.

“I love you son, and all the people whose lives you touched love you.

“We’ll never forget you.”
