A 'DIFFICULT decision' to cancel Christmas events at Stockley Farm has been taken by the family farm business.

The cancellation of events including school visits and the Exciting Elf Adventure comes after Stockley Farm entered administration in September, in a bid to save the business.

A statement released on Friday, November 30, said: “We are sorry to inform you that, due to matters beyond our control, all events, special events, external events and educational visits to Stockley Farm Park are cancelled.

“This includes the Exciting Elf Adventure, Christmas visits and Stocktots.

“We have taken this difficult decision as unfortunately we don’t feel that we will be able to deliver the experience that you’ll be expecting and deserve.

“With children of our own, we truly appreciate what a magical experience a festive visit to see Father Christmas should be, and the last thing we want to do is to disappoint you, your family or your pupils.

“We apologise again for any upset that this may cause and would like to reassure you that our ticket agents will be in touch with you immediately to arrange a full ticket refund, including any booking costs.”

Award-winning Stockley Farm specialises in arable and dairy farming in addition to operating as an open farm, and is set in nearly 700 acres at Arley.

The business has suffered in recent times as a result of reducing profit margins, together with ongoing investment required for general maintenance on the farm.
