TWO men armed with a machete, metal bar and air rifle attacked a victim during a 'targeted burglary' in Padgate.

An investigation was launched after two men broke into the house on Biggin Court and threatened the occupants at 7pm on November 11.

One of the men hit one of the occupants in the arm with a metal bar, causing a minor injury.

The second man was also armed with an air rifle.

The culprits, who had black balaclavas covering the bottom halves of their faces and were wearing jackets with their hoods up, fled empty-handed via the front door in an unknown direction.

The first man described as white, around 5ft 11ins and aged approximately 23 to 27 years old.

He had fair skin, blue eyes, blond hair and a stocky build.

He was wearing black pants and a black zip-up jacket with a white or grey T-shirt underneath.

The second man is described as black, around 5ft 6ins and looked to be in his late 20s or early 30s.

He had dark brown eyes and eyebrows, which were thick and bushy, and was wearing a blue hooded jacket that was zipped up three quarters of the way and dark tracksuit bottoms.

They both spoke with a Liverpudlian accent.

Detective constable Sophie Davies said: “This was a terrifying incident which has understandably left the victims extremely shaken up.

"I would also like to reassure the community that aggravated burglaries such as this are rare and this is believed to have been a targeted incident.”
