A SCRATCH Prescot Hockey Club men's team did better than expected in a 5-5 draw at Keswick in Cumbria.
As Keswick had only dropped two points all season and Prescot were missing five regulars, a long day of defending was expected.
However, the players that did travel produced a tremendous team effort to secure a valuable away point.
Goals were scored by Doyle, Boulton and Mortimer.
The ladies continued their winning streak, 3-0, at Bury in a tough encounter that boiled over several times.
Not helped by some very poor home umpiring the ladies kept their focus with goals from Lomax, Woods and Heaps and returned to Merseyside with a firm grip on a top-two position in League One.
The youngsters making up the women's third team produced another excellent performance to win a valuable three points against a high-flying Stockport team.
Goals came from Blythe Carter-Jones and Rose McCahey in either half.
