TWO new council directorates have been created to deliver annual savings totalling £111,000 – but the two directors in charge will receive a £3,000 pay rise.
Steve Park and David Boyer will take charge of the two new directorates – economic growth, as well as transport and environment.
Mr Park’s directorate of economic growth will include Warrington & Co, property and employment and business growth, while Mr Boyer’s directorate will include bins, highways and development management.
Andy Farrall, executive director for economic regeneration, growth and environment, will leave the authority when he retires in July next year.
But his directorate will be scrapped.
Mr Park was the managing director of Warrington & Co and Mr Boyer was the assistant director of transport and operations.
Following an interview by the council's chief officer employment committee, the pair were appointed to the new positions.
The two new directorates have been in operation since November 1.
Mr Farrall's current salary is £117,603.
The new salaries of Mr Park and Mr Boyer are both £95,784, with their previous salaries totalling £92,694.
The council confirmed it will make £85,000 in savings in 2019-20.
But, thereafter, it expects to make £111,423 in savings each year.
