LOOK away now if you're one of those people who believe 'there's only 12 days of Christmas and none of them are in December'.

We asked on the Warrington Guardian Facebook page if anyone had spotted homes with their Christmas tree up already and it turns out quite a few of you have already decked your halls with holly.

The majority of the trees in the pictures in the gallery above went up at the weekend but a couple were as early as the first week of November.

Many added they didn't care what others thought as putting their tree up early made their family happy.

While others said they worked in retail and wanted to make the most of it before long working hours meant they wouldn't be able to make the most of it in the run-up to Christmas.

Can putting your Christmas tree up early make you happier?

Whatever the reason, we reported last year psychoanalyst Steve McKeown had explained people who put their decorations up early are often much happier.

He added: "In a world full of stress and anxiety people like to associate to things that make them happy and Christmas decorations evoke those strong feelings of the childhood.

"Decorations are simply an anchor or pathway to those old childhood magical emotions of excitement. So putting up those Christmas decorations early extend the excitement!"
