AVATAR will meet world class circus when Cirque du Soleil next production comes to the stage.
With creative input from Avatar creator James Cameron, Toruk – The First Flight will offer a prequel to the story and is said to be unlike any other Cirque du Soleil experience.
A spokesman for the show said: "With the brilliance of the Cirque du Soleil performers whose athleticism and acrobatics bring to life the Na'vi, the show is a visual effects spectacular where the world of Pandora is depicted through impressive multimedia projections, massive set-pieces and the largest collection of puppetry in Cirque du Soleil history creating a narrative driven prequel to Avatar.
The story will see three friends on an epic quest when a natural catastrophe threatens to destroy the sacred Tree of Souls.
James Cameron added: “AVATAR is really meant to be a celebration of human motion and human emotion and Cirque is able to capture that absolutely perfectly. It makes you feel alive to watch these performers."
Toruk – The First Flight is at Manchester Arena from June 20 to 23. Visit cirquedusoleil.com/toruk
