A WOMAN in her mid 60s was taken to hospital this morning, Thursday, after being cut out of her car.

A 29-year-old man has been arrested for numerous offences including driving when disqualified. 

At 9.45am, firefighters and paramedics were called to a car crash involving two vehicles on Delph Lane in Winwick.

On arrival crews discovered that a woman was trapped in one of the vehicles.

They used specialist equipment to free the casualty from the vehicle and handed her over to the care of paramedics.

Firefighters also made sure that the vehicles were safe and were in attendance for around an hour.

She was taken to Warrington Hospital with minor injuries.
