A COLLABORATIVE initiative to boost growth in the town is thriving.

The Business Exchange was formed nine months ago by Warrington & Co, the borough's growth partner.

It provides a platform to allow businesses and entrepreneurs to collaborate to help build a stronger economy for the borough.

And it is celebrating after signing up its 170th member, Jungheinrich.

Andrew Horrocks, director of Swan Solutions, said: “We signed up to become a member on the launch day as there was an evident synergy in that Warrington Business Exchange and Swan Solutions both want to help Warrington-based organisations grow and become more profitable.

"Since becoming a member, we have attended various events which allowed us to meet business leaders and become better informed about what's going on in Warrington.

"The concept is great and complements other groups in Warrington and the surrounding areas."

Brookson Group chief executive Martin Hesketh also hailed the initiative.

He said: "Warrington Business Exchange is a great networking organisation that will help you make the contacts you need to succeed."

Sallie Maskrey, managing director of Portal Business Centres, added: "Portal Business Centres are delighted to be members of the Warrington Business Exchange and the events we have attended have far more varied and engaging than anticipated at the outset.

"What has surprised us of most of all is the enthusiasm of fellow members and the passion they have for business in the Warrington area.

"The events and ideas have been innovative and motivating and the group as a whole is driving us all towards some exciting times ahead."
