TWO men smashed the window of a bungalow in Runcorn while shouting at a woman to let them inside her home.

Between 6.30pm and 6.45pm on November 10, two men left a trail of destruction at the house on Moorland Drive before fleeing the scene empty handed when they realised the victim had raised the alarm.

They then ran away from the area in an unknown direction.

One of the men is described as being of a skinny build and approximately 5ft 3ins.

He was wearing dark clothing along with a balaclava.

The other man is described as being of a skinny build, taller than the first man and was wearing dark clothing.

His face was covered and he had a scarf wrapped around his face.

PC Dawn Taylor said: “This was an incredibly distressing incident for the lady in the house but thankfully she was able to raise the alarm before they caused her any serious harm.

“While our enquiries continue I am appealing to anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw two men acting suspiciously. I’d be keen to hear from anyone who may also have CCTV or dashcam footage. Please do come forward by calling 101.”

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101.
