THE fire and rescue service was called to a block of flats in the early hours of this morning which had suffered flooding due to a leak.
The flats on Wilson Patten Street saw water levels of approximately six-feet deep in the basement area.
Crews attended shortly before 3am today (Saturday) and isolated the gas and electrics at the scene and attempted to isolate the water - but were unable to stop the leak.
United Utilities were also called to the scene and the water was isolated at the mains.
Crews were at the flats for approximately two hours
