PAMPERED pooches are putting their best paw forward this Remembrance Sunday by wearing dog-friendly poppies.

The Dog Haus Ltd, a daycare and groomers based at the Palatine Industrial Estate in Causeway Avenue, has introduced the poppy to their four-legged clients.

The handmade poppies attach to a dog's collar and cost £1.50, matched with a £1 donation from The Dog Haus to the Royal British Legion.

Melissa Wavell owns the doggy daycare business at the premises, which she shares with dog groomer Eda Adams.

Eda, who runs the Woof and Ready Groom Room, used to serve in the army and decided to combine her previous and current jobs in a poppy appeal with a difference.

She said: "I do still have a lot of friends in the army and a few who are doing well and those who need support.

"I know the Royal British Legion help with that so I always buy poppies to support them.

"This year I thought 'why not get the dogs involved?'.

"The response from customers has been amazing and so far we've raised more than £100."
