A MUM who splashed out on a family car after finding out she was expecting her second child was sickened to discover thieves had crept round her home to steal her car keys.

Sasha Dylan along with her partner Alex and seven-year-old daughter were sleeping upstairs when her home was searched by burglars some time between 10pm on Tuesday and 7am on Wednesday.

The culprits stole the car which was parked outside on Penkford Lane in Burtonwood.

The 32-year-old, who has lived at the property for 11 years, said: "I only realised when my neighbour knocked on the door to ask if we were ok as my work bag had been thrown into their front garden.

"I think they dumped it as they were worried the police would be able to trace it as there was a laptop inside.

"It's scary to think someone was creeping around your house – especially as my young daughter was in the house.

"I only bought the car in July – it's our first family car.

"They would have crept past my daughter's 7th birthday cards to steal the keys and the car had a pink car seat in it.

"They would have known it's a family car. It's sickening."

This is second burglary on Penkford Lane within a week.

Four men wearing high-vis jackets conned an elderly woman in her 90s during a distraction burglary at 11.30am on October 31 by pretending to be from the water board.

"It's really scary to live here at the moment," she said.

"Luckily we all look after each other and we have all been checking in on her to make sure she is ok."

Anyone with information about the car theft has been urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
