ST WILFRID'S church in Grappenhall has transformed into an exhibition space remembering the First World War.

To mark 100 years since the end of the war, the church in Church Lane is inviting the community, schools, preschools and uniform groups to engage with their commemorate activities.

The exhibition opened on Saturday and will run until next Tuesday, November 13. It is open to the public from 9am until 7pm each day.

The space includes stories about men from the area who lost their lives as well as artwork from schools.

Activities for children are 'selfie with a soldier', themed crafts and dressing up in First World War costumes.

There will be veterans from later wars talking to all visitors throughout the exhibition dates.

The event supports the Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes.
