SEVENTEEN jobs have been lost in Warrington as butcher's chain Crawshaws confirmed the closures of two branches in the town.

The company has closed 35 stores and one factory nationwide after appointing administrators last week, resulting in 354 job losses.

This included one in Birchwood, with the loss of 10 jobs, and one in Warrington, at Market Gate, with the loss of seven positions.

Both shops closed suddenly last Wednesday.

Administrators are now seeking a buyer for the business in a bid to preserve the 261 remaining jobs across the country.
