A NEW outdoor gym will be opened in Lymm later this month.
Former Everton, Rangers and Scotland star David Weir will open the gym at Ridgway Grundy Park at 11am on Sunday, November 18.
Cllr Ian Marks said: "We are very grateful for the financial support we have received from Wren through landfill tax, Lymm Parish Council, Lymm Round Table, Active Cheshire and crowdfunding.
"We also thank several sporting organisations for their backing and Warrington Borough Council for managing the project for us."
Resident Denis McAllister who had the idea for the gym added: "I am delighted the work has now been completed.
"There are nine pieces of equipment and I hope it will be well used and contribute to people's healthy living.
"Anyone is welcome to join us for the opening."
