A CELEBRITY gardener has praised the work of green-fingered veterans on a community allotment in Glazebury.
David Domoney from the hit ITV show Love Your Garden visited the charity Shoulder to Soldiers' allotment earlier this month.
The plot, which was provided by Bents Garden Centre, has been transformed by the hard work and dedication of around 40 veterans.
As part of the Cultivation Street campaign, the TV presenter handed the charity a cheque for £1,000 as well as 100 geraniums after being named regional winners of the Community Garden 2018 category.
Linda Fisher, trustee of the charity said: “David was impressed with the transformation of the allotment area, he took time out to speak to each and everyone of the veterans who have worked so hard to deliver the project.
"He gave them useful tips on maintaining the plot and lots of words of encouragement."
