I WAS very interested to read the comprehensive ‘Brexit – Implications and Risks Update 1’ just issued by Professor Steven Broomhead, chief executive of Warrington Borough Council.

This document attempts to quantify the actual impact on Warrington of the bad deal or no deal situation that seems to be facing us.

In contrast to all the hype so far in the national media, it is a very useful analysis of how it will affect us here in Warrington.

It is a pity that it is unlikely that everyone that could vote in a possible People’s Vote will read it. I hope they do.

If they do, at least whatever the outcome of the People’s Vote, the votes would be from people who had considered the matter instead of just emotional responses to fantasy promises on both sides of the argument.

We need to take stock of what Brexit really means for each of us, our children and the future for their children.
