POLICE believe the fatal stabbing of teenager Eddie O’Rourke may have been recorded on a mobile phone and have appealed for anyone who has the footage to come forward.

The 18-year-old died after an incident outside the Royal British Legion in Halton Village on Friday, September 7.

Cheshire Police now believe that there may be footage of the attack recorded on a mobile phone, with officers urging anyone with video or pictures of the incident to pass them on to the force.

Detective inspector Adam Waller said: “If anyone filmed the incident or has been sent a video of it, I urge them to send us the footage.”

Two teens from Runcorn, who cannot be named, have been charged with Mr O’Rourke’s murder and are due to stand trial at Chester Crown Court in March next year.

The 17-year-old and 15-year-old cannot be named for legal reasons.

A 16-year-old boy from Runcorn was also arrested on suspicion of murder, but has since been released by police pending further enquiries.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101, quoting incident number IML 177899, or to call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
