THE bomb disposal squad descended on Chapelford on Wednesday following the discovery of an old hand grenade.
Police were alerted at 5.30pm after the explosive was found at a property on Colorado Close.
The explosive ordnance disposal team were called to the scene and, after examination, a decision was taken to remove the device from the address and take it back to the barracks for disposal.
Officers visited neighbouring properties to provide reassurance to residents.
