HALLOWEEN is coming early to Stockton Heath with a spooky bat watch later this month.
The event has been organised by Stockton Heath Parish Council and will be led by Tony Parker who works at the World Museum Liverpool.
It will take place as darkness falls over the water at Ackers Pit and people wanting to attend should meet at the noticeboard on Ackers Lane at 5.30pm next Sunday, October 21.
Bat detector devices will be available which will help people hear the bats as they send out their ultra-sonic signals.
Children under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.
Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on a lead in order to avoid disturbing wildlife that may be present.
Participants should wear clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, suitable footwear and bring a torch if possible.
Bats are not guaranteed on the evening itself, but lots information on the habits and habitats of bats will be available.
