STOCKTON Heath primary school dedicated a week to science to engage pupils with the subject.

From October 1, the primary school in West Avenue took part in a variety of workshops based on space.

Head teacher Dan Harding said "These include dramatic representations of a space pirate's journey through the stars and create and presenting short plays explaining the difficulties of visiting the different planets, provided by external specialists ‘As Creatives'.

"Other children will be experiencing a virtual reality tour of the solar system provided by The Education Group.

"We were looking forward to working co-operatively and linking science with drama and dance.

"As well as the workshops, we also undertook a whole-school investigation called ‘Sycamore Spinners’ to determine what size and shape makes the most effective spinner for sycamore seed dispersal."
