PUPILS at Broomfields junior school have set their sights high as they learn about democracy from the Mayor of Warrington.
Cllr Karen Elizabeth Mundry, Mayor of Warrington, visited the junior school on Bridge Lane, Appleton on Monday to enhance the year six children's work on rights and responsibilities.
Head teacher Rachel Morris Brown said: "Cllr Mundry gave a presentation on her role within Warrington.
"The children asked questions as to what she was hoping to achieve and what her priorities are and together they discussed topics such as human rights, homelessness and child poverty.
"They were absolutely thrilled that Cllr Mundry put time aside to be able to visit Broomfields and were proud to have such an important visitor within school.
"The house captains welcomed Cllr Mundry on arrival and explained to her how they were elected into their roles, which she was very interested to hear about."
