A MUM is hoping to raise funds to buy a defibrillator for her daughter’s nursery.
Anita Lilley’s two-year-old daughter Daisy attends the ‘fantastic’ Willowdene Private Day Nursery in Widnes.
The air hostess has previously had to use a defibrillator in her role, but the nearest to the nursery is a ‘10-minute spint’ away.
Now she is hoping to raise funds to have the life-saving equipment installed at the Fairfield Road nursery in case of emergency.
Anita said: “Daisy loves all the staff, and the nursery is fantastic with her.
“As airline cabin crew, I know time is of the essence.
“Currently, the nearest defibrillator is a 10-minute spring away.
“This may not sound far, but when you’re doing CPR on somebody who has stopped breathing it is.
“Having been a crew member for 20 years and having had to deal with this situation, you need a defibrillator there and then - not a 10-minute sprint away.”
Anita has set up a crowdfunding page for the defibrillator, and is hoping to raise a total of £1,300.
She added: “You can help me change this.
“Please help me raise the money to get a defibrillator and training into the nursery.
“All I’m asking for is a £1 or £2 donation that could help save a person’s life.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
