INNOVATIVE technology fitted in a hi-tech home has seen a Woolston company scoop a top award.

Sona was awarded the title of the Best Integrated Home in the Europe, Middle East and Africa regions at the Cedia Awards.

The Manchester Road-based integrated luxury home technology company worked with Australian interior designer Keely Green to produce a ‘seamless aesthetic’ throughout the home in Chester.

Features built into the house include a TV hidden behind a bespoke cabinet, in-keeping with the room’s decor, and 20 speakers that can be controlled by phones in order to enjoy music throughout the home.

Meanwhile, the property’s private cinema boasts speakers disguised by custom movie artwork.

Managing director Nicola Fulstow said: “To even get shortlisted for a Cedia Award is a massive achievement, so to win Best Integrated Home is something to be truly proud of.

“The fact that we were nominated across five categories goes to demonstrate that Sona approach every project and element of each install with the same level of attention to detail and care.

“It’s part of who we are and what we do, which is how we’ve ended up as one of the top three most highly awarded, commended and shortlisted companies across Europe, the Middle East and Africa regions.”

Award winners were announced during a ceremony at the British Museum.

Sona technical director Simon Fulstow added: “It’s so exciting that the north west are really representing luxury home technology - not only in the UK, but amongst the best companies in the world.

“When I founded this company in 2012, that was something I only dreamed of.”
