THE Warrington Guardian has been shortlisted for two awards at this year's The O2 Media Awards North West.
Our coverage of the 25th anniversary of the Warrington bombing was among the reasons the paper has been included among the nominees for Team of the Year (Print) and the On-Line Journalism award.
Our colleagues Andrew Simpson and Barbara Jordan at sister titles the Northwich Guardian and Runcorn and Widnes World were also shortlisted in the sports reporter category and for a social media award.
Nicola Green, director of corporate affairs at O2, said: “This year has seen the anniversaries of some significant news events.
"Judges were impressed by the way in which many of these globally-known stories were remembered and re-imagined for today’s audiences."
BBC Breakfast’s Louise Minchin will host the awards ceremony at Chester Racecourse on November 8.
