AN elderly woman who sustained serious injuries after a crash on Winwick Road has died.
The 82-year-old pensioner was taken to Royal Salford Hospital after the collision at 9.20am on Tuesday on the southbound carriageway near to Toll Bar Road.
But she died a short time later, police have confirmed.
Her next of kin have been informed and they are being supported by specialist officers.

The road was closed between junction nine of the M62 at Winwick and Cromwell Avenue after an air ambulance was called to the scene.
The road reopened at 1.30pm.
Enquiries in relation to this incident, which involved a red Hyundai I20 and the 82-year-old, are ongoing.
Officers are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or anyone who believes they have any dashcam footage of the incident.
