A WIDNES nursery has received an outstanding rating in its most recent Ofsted inspection.

Warrington Road Nursery School was visited in July for a one-day inspection and for the fifth year in a row, it was rated outstanding.

Inspector Tim Vaughn commented on the nursery's calm environment, saying: “The school feels calm and focused on learning. "Children participate happily and very positively in a wide range of worthwhile activities. They are deeply involved in their learning. Children have excellent relationships with one another and with staff."

He added: “Teaching over time remains of a high standard. Children continue to achieve very well. They gain an outstanding start to their education.”

The nursery offers care for children aged three and four, with five rooms and an outdoor play area.

Staff were praised for their engagement and focus on the children's interests.

The report stated: "Warrington Road is a school where staff are deeply interested in children’s fascinations and interests. Staff give children lots of opportunities to create, construct, investigate and discuss their play and group work."

Amanda Brown, executive head teacher said: “We are very proud of this achievement and that the inspector was so complimentary about our school.

"This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the whole staff team and we are delighted that this has been recognised once again."
