TWO of The Wire’s under 19s stars have been handed first-team contracts.

Prop Eribe Doro, 17, and 19-year-old loose forward Ellis Robson have penned professional deals at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Doro, a product of the Saddleworth Rangers amateur club, has signed a deal until November 2021 while under 19s captain Robson has penned a two-year deal until 2020.

Robson is yet to be part of the first-team set up, but Doro was named in The Wire’s 19-man squad for the Challenge Cup tie with Bradford Bulls earlier this season and has trained regularly with the senior side.

Head coach Steve Price says he is looking forward to welcoming both players into the first team picture next year.

He hinted Doro’s progress may result in him being “fast-tracked” into being a full-time first-team player and says he is keen to reward Robson’s hard work and consistency with the under 19s.

“I’ve been really pleased with how Eribe’s come through our academy this year,” he said.

“He’s only 17 years of age and he’s been training a few days a week with the big boys in our first-team squad.

“He’s a guy who is willing to learn and I can see him playing a big part in our future over the years to come.

“He’s got a lot of improvement in his game and learning to do in terms of playing in the middle, but I am confident that we can fast-track his progress to have him become a quality player for Warrington Wolves.

“Ellis has been one of our most consistent players in the academy this season.

“It’s important that we reward hard work and those players who develop and come through our system.

“Ellis typifies what we are trying to breed here at Warrington. He’s a player who players like playing with.

“He’s extremely hard working and his form has earned him the opportunity to be a full time player within our first team next year.”
