A DRIVER has been taken to hospital with knee injuries after a two-car crash in Bury.

It follows a collision between a white Fiat minivan and a blue Toyota Yaris in the Brandlesholme area on Friday afternoon.

Fire crews from Bury and Whitefield were called to Holme Avenue shortly after 2.10pm.

Saul Hickey, crew manager at Bury Fire Station, said: "There were two people in one vehicle, and on woman in the other.

"The two occupants in the first vehicle were conscious and breathing. They managed to get out of the vehicle.

"The female driver in the second car suffered slight leg injuries. We waited with her until paramedics arrived.

"She was taken to hospital."

The police and an ambulance were also in attendance.

Fire crews remained on the scene for about 30 minutes.
