RESIDENTS are gearing up for a Trans Pennine Trail awareness walk on Sunday.

The event will begin at the entrance for the trail in Grappenhall, on Bradshaw Lane, at 1.30pm.

It comes as concerns over potential development through the site continue to mount.

Campaigner Helen Gurnani said: "One year on since the first trail walk, what do we know?

"Not much more. No decision on the local plan preferred development option and green space already being lost for good during all the dithering.

"Warrington Borough Council need to know we are still here.

"The answer is still no. The trail is not for sale.

"Please come along all residents of Grappenhall, Thelwall and Latchford, all users of the Trans Pennine Trail and anyone who cares to protect Warrington's green spaces from excess development."
