SOME of the region’s most exciting musical talent took over Inglenook Farm at the weekend as Sound City on the Farm came to town to hold a family friendly music festival.

Slydigs – who have supported the Who – joined St Helens’ Scarlet and other bands at the sold out event on Sunday, September 16.

Sound City, a major music event in Liverpool, partnered with arts organisation Heart of Glass to create the one-day event with 450 tickets snapped up shortly after their release.

David Pichilingi, Founder of Sound City, said:: “Sound City on the Farm was an fantastic day in a beautiful location.

“Partnering with our friends Heart of Glass to showcase exciting emerging local music and the arts, it was a special way to celebrate 150 years of St Helens.”

Sue Potts, head of development at Heart of Glass, added: “The team here is still buzzing from Sound City on the Farm. The rain held off and the sun shone on a brilliant family friendly day showcasing some amazing local talent.

“The fact it sold out over night demonstrated there’s a real appetite for hearing from local and diverse musical talent in St Helens.

“We’re excited to be working together with the Sound City team and looking forward to doing more to support local young people in the future.”
