A FIVE-A-SIDE football tournament will take place at Crosfields on Sunday to raise money for Kirsty Macdonald.

The 26-year-old faces the fight of her life to beat cancer.

More than £30,000 has been donated so far to help provide treatment in Germany Kirsty and support for her two daughters Eva and Ella after she was diagnosed with cervical cancer for the third time in 18 months.

The event starts at 1.30pm at the Great Sankey club and will sees teams from Crosfields Ladies take part along with Crosfields coaches as well as parents and other volunteers.

All players are paying £5 to play and there will be a raffle with the main prize of signed Everton shirt. There will also be a signed Manchester United shirt which will be auctioned to raise more funds.

Helen Atkinson who was recently awarded Grassroots Football Mum of the Year by Colleen Rooney, is playing and helping to organise the event with Gill Heron.
