THE sky was the limit when Mike Amesbury visited a group of high-fliers.
The Weaver Vale MP was invited to 306 (Runcorn) Squadron where he got the chance to chat to cadets and tour the facilities, as well as view a flight simulator.
The cadets meet at Crown Gate Barracks in Runcorn and activities range from self-defence training and archery, to mountain biking, flying D of E award and visits.
Mike said: “It was a really enjoyable visit and I was really impressed with the amount of activities on offer. I know my son had a tremendous amount of fun getting to grips with the flight simulator too.”
Flight lieutenant J T Williams, the group’s commanding officer, said: “All staff and cadets felt this was a very positive and worthwhile visit. We are all appreciative of our local MP taking time and showing such interest in what we feel to be a most worthwhile and under-recognised youth enterprise.”
