PLANS for an off-licence in Padgate to be turned into a café have been approved despite concerns.

Warrington Borough Council has granted planning permission for developer Brenrun Limited to open a café in the former Bargain Booze store on Bruche Heath Gardens.

Approval of the scheme comes despite the objections of a number of residents, who raised concerns over parking in the area.

Proposals to convert the 81m sq premises into a takeaway were refused by Warrington Borough Council last year.

Resident Ian Caddick said in his written objection to the plans: “There is many a time that I cannot park near to where I live, and I fear should you allow another café – we already have one – then it would become impossible to park.”

But consent for the scheme was granted on Tuesday, September 4, on the condition that the café only opens between 7.30am and 8pm between Monday and Saturday and from 8.30am to 5.30pm on Sundays and bank holidays.
