BILLINGE made in three wins from their first three games as they beat champions Knutsford 4-2 at Barrows Farm on Saturday.

Phil Dearden scored twice for the Storks, with Dean Curtis and Martin Dearden also hitting the net to delight boss Matt Potter, who said he was “over the moon” with the result.

“I’m really pleased with the performance in the end and the lads were all buzzing in the changing rooms,” he said.

“We knew at half-time that we had to tighten things up in midfield and I felt we did this.

“Also it was great to have a strong bench available and even though the substitutions were forced, I thought all three added something to the performance.

“August is very busy, so the aim is to see where we are at the end of the month – when we are due some influential players back from injury – and then give it a real go for the remainder of the season.”

The Storks were fourth in the Cheshire League Premier Division table before last night’s scheduled meeting with Eagle Sports.

Potter’s side visit Middlewich Town on Saturday, kick off 3pm, before hosting Greenalls PSO on Tuesday, kick off 6.30pm.
