A HIKER is determined to find the stranger who supported him as he struggled to complete the Three Peaks challenge.

Iqbal Khan, from Gatwick, is hoping to trace the Good Samaritan who lives in Warrington.

The 35-year-old was on the second day of the hike in the Lake District on July 24 when he feared he would not be able to reach the finish line.

Posting on Facebook, Iqbal said: "I need your help guys and gals.

"This is Allen – a 65 year old Scouser living in Warrington.

"On day two of my Three Peaks challenge I met him near the bottom where I was ready to quit and go back down due to the pain I was in.

"He literally babied me up and down the mountain.

"I can honestly say with out him with me on the day I would have failed my challenge. He was a godsend.

"After I gave him a lift into town I forgot to get a contact number for him. When I turned the car around he was gone.

"All I know is he was in Keswick with his wife and has a daughter who lives in Guildford.

"I need to find this man.

"I want him on my next challenge. People like him are a rare breed."
