KNUTSFORD Beats hit the right note with its sell-out concert at the Vermilion Art Gallery.

The fledgling group is led by Diane Healey, and raised £2,170 for charity from the concert and a performance outside the town’s Waitrose store.

The money will go to support cystic fibrosis and dementia research.

Knutsford Beats was formed in February, and raised £540 for the charities in May with a performance in Regent Street.

It followed that with a flash mob performance at the Knutsford Indoor Market, and the Vermilion evening, which was attended by 140 people, was the group’s first concert.

“We wanted the concert to be a bit different, and Vermilion is a fantastic place,” said Diane.

“It was an absolutely brilliant event, and I would like to thank everyone who supported it, including the gallery and Sarah Peak from The Cheese Yard, who did a fantastic spread.

“We wanted the concert to feature feelgood music, and the evening included Someone Out There Loves You by Rae Morris, One Day Like This by Elbow and Human by Rag’N’Bone Man.

“We performed two sets outside Waitrose – it was great, people stopped on the other side of the street to listen and dropped money in the buckets.

“I would like to thank Sam Moyse, the team manager, for allowing us to perform there.”

Diane said the group had some ‘spookily exciting’ plans in the pipeline, and is planning a Christmas concert at Knutsford Methodist Church on Friday, December 21, at 7.30pm.
