A WOMAN has been arrested after a 49-year-old man was found dead at a house in Bewsey.

Cheshire Police were called to the property on Rixton Avenue shortly before 2am yesterday, Sunday, after receiving reports of a sudden death.

The body of a 49-year-old man was found at the scene, and his death is currently being treated as unexplained.

Officers arrested a 48-year-old woman in connection with the incident, but was released under investigation later the same day.

For investigative reasons, the force is unable to disclose the nature of the arrest.

Forensics units were spotted at the scene, with a tent set up outside the front door of the house by police.

Cheshire Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the man's death, which is not believed to be suspicious at present.

A force spokesman said: “At 1.52am on Sunday, June 3, police were called to an address on Rixton Avenue following reports of a sudden death.

“At this time, detectives are trying to establish the circumstances surrounding the death of the 49-year-old man found at the address.

“At this stage, the death is being treated as unexplained.

“As part of their enquiries, they have arrested a 48-year-old woman who has since been released under investigation."

Cheshire Police's spokesman later added: "Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 49-year-old man on Rixton Avenue on Sunday, June 3.

"The woman who was arrested was released under investigation later the same day.

"At this stage, the death is not believed to be supicious but enquiries are continuing."
