WARRINGTON and Halton Hospital Charity is running a community book pledge to raise money for more than 30,000 children who visit their hospitals ever year.
In partnership with book publishers Usborne Books at Home, the charity has set a target of £1,000 which will be used to buy books for the children's ward, clinics and A&E in the three hospitals of the Warrington and Halton NHS Trust.
The books will be used to entertain and educate the children, as well as distracting them from the stressful experience of attending hospital.
As part of the fundraising effort, a pop-up book stall has been set up in the main entrance of Warrington Hospital, on Lovely Lane, for the past two weeks and will also be there on Wednesday.
Books are available for purchase on the day, or can be ordered, with all proceeds going towards the pledge target.
Usborne Books will also donate a further 60 per cent in books of the value raised after £600.
Donations can be made via justgiving.com/crowdfunding/jacquiholding.
Businesses can also donate by calling Jacqui Holding on 07734 102299.
