A TRIBUTE to diver Stanley Edward Moore was unveiled during an opening ceremony at The Museum of Policing in Warrington.
The police diver died on February 11, 1969, following a mission in the Mersey at the weir along Knutsford Road.
The 37-year-old was involved in an underwater search for two missing children in Warrington when tragedy struck.
The display at the police museum on Arpley Street in the town centre focuses on the underwater search team unit including the driver’s tragic death.
An official opening ceremony was held last Friday.
The Deputy Mayor of Warrington Cllr Karen Mundry, consort Jason Mundry, Dave Thompson, from Warrington Disability Partnership, and Darren Martland, acting deputy chief constable, attended alongside curator Peter Hampson.
The museum is open to groups by appointment only.
