WE are counting down to the opening of the new San Lorenzo restaurant in the town centre.

And to celebrate the occasion we are giving Warrington Guardian readers another chance to win a special VIP evening - before the eaterie officially opens to the public on Tuesday, April 24.

You will be able to join our previous competition winners Julie Dimeloe, from Whittle Hall, Kirsty Aspinall from Great Sankey, and Christine Gould from Grappenhall, at a pre-opening behind the scenes chefs cook-off and tasting evening at the restaurant overlooking Palmyra Square.

Dishes from the new rustic Italian menu will be available, along with wine, Prosecco and cocktails that have been selected for the extensive drinks menu.

You will also have time to take a look around the historic Treasury Building, chat to the chefs in the open kitchen and see the wood fired pizza oven up close.
